Editor

I was an editor at the Chicago Reader for nine years. In addition to the usual acquisitions, copy editing, and fact checking I also acted as project manager for the following special issues:

Spring and Fall Books, 2002-2007

I intitiated the Reader's first-ever books issue in 2002 and edited ten all told. Here are links to the most recent two:

Stranger Than Fiction: Fall Books Special, November 1, 2007
Spring Books Special, June 1, 2007

Neighborhood Issues

An ongoing series devoted to Chicago neighborhoods launched in 2007. I organized the editorial content for the first two. As a freelancer I've written the history features for 2008 thus far.
