Sky full of . . . purslane?
Mike Gebert’s latest Sky Full of Bacon podcast explores the rising popularity of urban foraging. Check it out to hear chef Art Jackson and artist-gardener extraordinaire Nance Klehm discuss the food to be found beneath your feet–and to remember what the city looked like in September, before that bacon sky turned mud-grey and the streets filled up with potholes and petrified dog poop.
My favorite bit:
Nance ”I feel like cities are really lonely places. And I started to find my solace by going out for walks along train tracks and going into areas like this and just trying to find a quiet non-human space.”
Mike ”A lot of us take walks, but not everyone nibbles along the way. How’d you start doing that?”
Nance “I just tapped into my inner monkey!”
