Rust Belt Chicago<\/em><\/strong>, the anthology of essays, poetry, journalism, and short fiction that I’ve been working on for, oh, 18 months at least is at last\u00a0out in the world and available for all your summer reading needs. If you’re in Chicago, come celebrate with us on Sunday, August 13 <\/a>at the Hideout. We’ll have short readings from contributors Zoe Zolbrod, Britt Julious, David Isaacson, Paul Durica, Rayshauna Gray, Kevin Coval, Rob Miller, and Yana Kunichoff, plus a DJ set from Chic-a-go-go’<\/em>s Jake Austen, and drink specials on Middlebrow beer and Rusty Belt cocktails — which I’m told will be some sort of Malort-based concoction.<\/p>\n

We will also have limited edition enamel pins<\/strong> and signed posters<\/strong> of the cover art, by our hero Tony Fitzpatrick<\/a> for sale at the party (and afterward on the Belt site<\/a>; order anything you want directly from us and your dollars go to support independent publishers and writers).<\/p>\n

The whole thing runs from 6-9 pm at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia in Chicago, and it’s free, and open to all<\/strong>. We’ve got more events coming up down the road \u00a0— see the events page for details<\/a> — but I do hope you’ll come lift a glass with us in celebration on what promises to be a beautiful summer evening, as we turn the page together from work-in-progress to published book.<\/p>\n
