OK I just wasted a good hour, at least, plugging through the posts on this blog<\/a>, trying to ID “the squirrel’s” nameless restaurant.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Let’s see:<\/p>\n

–It’s on the southwest corner of the three-way intersection of a four-lane, east-west artery and smaller two-lane north-south street that dead-ends at the east-west street<\/a>.<\/p>\n

–I am pretty sure the “hole-in-the-wall BYOB Mexican place” rhapsodized over<\/a>\u00a0in a recent post is Mixteco<\/a>. Which would put mr. mystery restaurant somewhere on the north side, three miles from Ashland and Montrose.<\/p>\n

–Mr. mystery restaurant serves a lot of burgers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

–There are TVs, with sports on them<\/a>.<\/p>\n

–There’s a Wendy’s nearby<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So many clues, and yet I am blank. I’m guessing west. Avondale? Albany Park? Lincoln Square? A drive-by may be in order.<\/p>\n

In any case, even if you’re not playing restaurant detective it’s a good, if sort of exhausting, read. (The guy is … prolific.) Think\u00a0Kitchen Confidential<\/a> meets Waiter Rants<\/a>, the management edition.<\/p>\n
