We celebrated the release of The Chicago Neighborhood Guidebook<\/a> in style at the Hideout on September 10, and that same week I appeared on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight to talk about the book. You can watch the whole feature, and read Sheila Elliott’s essay on Garfield Ridge here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On September 1 I also went down to the new WGN studios along with contributor Vitaliy Vladimirov to talk with Rick Kogan about the book. Rick is such a charming interviewer; he really knows how to put you at ease;\u00a0you can listen to the whole thing here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in the print media,\u00a0The Chicago Reader ran a nice feature\/review on the book<\/a>; I really had a good time talking with writer Andrea Michelson, and she was very gracious when I was half an hour late because I went to the wrong coffeeshop, because I am unable to read a Google map.<\/p>\n

Curbed Chicago published this very generous piece on \u00a0September 17<\/a>. I had another good interview with writer Tanner Howard back in late July, and I’m grateful that they took the time to connect with some of the contributors as well, for their insight.<\/p>\n

And Chicago Detours<\/a> says the book is “a\u00a0stirring, entertaining and informative collection of works. …\u00a0Taken together the collection presents a sometimes idiosyncratic but always insightful portrait of the City of Neighborhoods<\/a>.”<\/p>\n
